just to save everyone asking me this and that since i completed the game

also sorry about punctatuation it s a long guide and i cant be arsed to go back and sort it out

difficulty

easy mode-...no one here should play on that.....if you do i shall noobmarshall you
normal-more ammo then you would normally get unlimited meds supply from med wall boxes
hardcore-slightly easier to die less max morphines
infamous-you can be killed by a single man so be careful less ammo and morphine shots

things with a * next to it will have more/extra information further down the post

first of your a hired mecernary hired by some western superpower to assassinate a arms dealer causing problems in a african region

here your being driven by your taxi driver to a place called pala on the arrival of the town you get infected by malaria then you wake up in your hotel room seeing the jackal going through your belongings then he gives you a speech of some crap next thing your out cold and wake up in the middle of a fire fight within the city and pick up your pistol and the machette....

as soon as your outside you can fight of all the guys outside but you will die eventually which is part of the story after you wake up in a certain loaction taken captive by one of the 2 warring factions this is either random or specific to the character chosen before when choosing to start a newy story but anyway go through the guide arm up and so on then he orders you to attack a *safehouse then you get yet another phone call to take a nap in the house make sure you pick up the glowing small boxes both will give ammo for explosives and fire based weapons

next your sent to a *larger encampment and sent t scout it out after you are ordered to attack it and rescue a hostage after killing all the guards enter the building which needs you to press use to enter at the main door and free your new *buddy after that go outside and you will get a hpone call to head back to your new bss and get paid he tells you that you go look for a diamond briefcase in that area

next head for mikes bar there you will meet your buddy that you saved and a reporter and another buddy talk to everyone in the bar and then head for pala to meet up with the priest to get some *malaria pills after that you are free to do what ever you wish from here on also take note no one is a friend so expect to be attacked and shot at when your outside the ceasefire zones

there also outposts in the game these genrally house about 4-6 troops and some may hvae snipers to scout them look for either ammo piles or medkit boxes and use the monocular to scout them they are 57 of these plotted on roads, bridges or near lakes and rivers

missions

each time you do a main story mission you will get a phone call from your buddy to meet them make sure you do so as you can get upgrades for your safehouse buddy will give you extra task such as kill someone or retrieve something for them do take note that you wont be able to go back and do the extra missions apparently unlike gta far cry 2 will become less free roamble after 75% of game completion as all you can do is the main story missions and such

sateillete missions are extra assassantion missions to do for a extra 10 diamonds note payment is received once you killed the *target

buddy missions are there to make grow your buddy history which is im guessing is the friendship levels

arms dealer missions are basically *ambush missions you are asked to take down a rival arms dealers convoy and will recieve more armaments to buy from him

briefcases yes there are apparently 221 if anyone of you guys are crazy enough to find them all just make sure to look around the area surrounding the case as some are not directly accessble such as you have to run and jump of a boulder or something or use a glider to get to it

reporter/jackal tapes these can be found all over the place when you found them all give them to the reporter who will be found in either mikes bar/marina these can be found like diamond cases so use the compass tracker to attain these

heres a location of both a diamond case and jackal tape

there are 3 guards so they shouldnt be much trouble

the golden ak-47 there are 8 of these in the game 4 in each *district hidden in places where you would find a diamond case so a lot of exploring is needed to attain these, why bother? well these things wont jam as quickly and more accurate then the normal ones so if you liek to run and gun with assualt weapons find them

1st ak



also they dont show up on the tracker on the compass and some are near impossible to find



2 nd ak location









so here it all the general information you could ask me or you can msg me if you have a different one which isnt in here

* information list

safehouses can be upgraded these upgrades go as far as a veichle to ammo piles these can only be achieved by doing the extra buddy mission for the main story missions also the ones you do in mikesbar/marina count to your reputation which is your upgrade level thing

to use the safehouse sleeping system is quite useful turn the ddial on the clock using the D and A max amount of sleep you can have is 30mins to 12hours



larger encampments have budies in them which you can resuce they are the grey zones on the map and have names such as lumber camp, meathouse and so on the camps normally have about 8-12 guards and be wary of snipers since they can spot you out a lot more easily so night attacks are advisable since it makes it harder for snipers to see you and attacking them first is also wise since you dont want to get hit by him if your trying to heal yourself or reloading

buddies they are 11 of these 4 female rest male but they are used to help you and your mission and will rescue you also do take note once the second best buddy has rescued you go to a nearby cleared safehouse to find them and speak to them to get them back to resue ready which is basically confirming them to rescue you when you die in combat dont be worried about them dieing since they are plenty also if you see your buddy in pain and wrapping their arm across there lower chest make sure to wait for them to fall and heal them with a morphine shot if they get taken down again they will die so you will have to mercy kill them ( 3 morphine shots or shoot them in the head with your pistol ) also make sure you know whos the enemy or you may do what shanchez did and run a buddy over by accident =p

malaria pills are about 3 per a bottle so when ever you have run out get to the priest quickly and do the quick errand to get your pills also there will be troops about 4-6 outside the house where you need to deliver the passports to the innocent civilians and get your pills as a thank you gift from the people inside

target for assassination missions are guys in suits so they will stick out like a saw thumb they also are quite good shot with their pistols so make sure you kill them with the 1st shot or you may die



ambushes for the arms dealer the convoy moves in circles so either set up *ieds in the route they follow or get a rocket launcher and cause carange also setting fire to the truck will force the driver to stop and fight on foot also YOU MUST DESTROY THE TRUCK not hijack it

ied are basically homemade c4 except they have a blast range of something like 3-4 metres radius so keep clear of these things if you plan to use it

district there are 2 of these 1 northern 1 southern you firs of start in the northern district also walking inbewtween both districts will cause your character to fall due to extreme heat as you can notice the terrain is pure sand

assualt tactics

sniper tactics
most effective way to attack is attack during night and always take out enemy snipers first or the target depending on the objective
always stay mobile sprint and relocate take a shot and keep doing so there maybe cases that you need to use your secondary weapon so be prepared always stay in cover and try not to keep swapping uns near enemies since they can hear you

close assualt tactics not my favourite so i can exactly give my best advice for this-also a useful way of dodging flying bullets is sliding which can be done by sprinting and pressing your crouch key

use veichles weapons or explosives to take out large clusters of men then run in with your machine gun and clear the area

stealth tactics
for mgs lovers you can probably complete this game with barely any kills all though they are times when you MUST but also attack at night and use weapons such as a silence pistol or mp5 to do the work of a sticky situation also beware using the machette 2 hits a kill and others can hear them scream

weapons

ok i will be talking about each weapon and my experience with these

also check gun stats in the options menu to see the stats always buy reliability upgrades and accuracy upgrades if you cant hit the back side of a barn

assualt rifles a word of advice shoot in burst of 2-3 bullets a time

g3ka4-looks a mp5 has poor accuracy and is just a starter gun takes about 5 shots to frag
ak-47- highly reliable powerful shots takes about 3 shots a frag
fal paratrooper-a good balanced gun a bit weaker then the ak but slightly more accurate but less reliable
ar-16-highly unreliable has a dot scope but fires out peas
mp5- reliable and a silencer weapon great for sneak attacks and should be used in close quarters

nade launchers - pretty much you use these things away from yourself and especially cleans ones a dirty one isnt exactly the most safe ideal thing ever

mgl-140 -fairly balanced fires out nades quickly and effectively always use the scope to aim or prepare for some desastors
m79 -(secondary weapon) fires 1 nade at a time useful if you need to take out a veichle thats about to run you down

shotguns

homeland-6 shooter can 1 shot kill and has a small spray radius highly reliable basically the ak equivalent in shotgun format
spas- semi auto has less range and a larger spray radius then the homeland
usas-full auto shooty beware it climbs fairly fast

sniper rifles

m1903 -a WWII clasic has highest accuracy but may take 2 hits to kill
dragonuv svdsemi auto 10 shot sniper has a odd scope to it more powerful has less accuracy then the m1903
as50-basically the 50 cal sniper rifle 5 shots semi auto and kill people through objects hardly ever leaves survivors after shooting them but has lo accuracy has poor reliablity second to the dart rifle very loud to so beaware you dont deafing yourself with it
dart rifle-fires out darts seem to kill from what i see but anyway its a suppressed weapon never shoot a enemy in the chest always in the head or they will scream and alert others around them has the poorest accuracy and reliablity of the sniper rifles

light machine guns

m249 saw-(aka the herb cannon) fast fire rate highly accurate but then the pkm
pkm-powerful but lacks some accuracy

special weapons(dart rifle counts as a special but argueble its a sniper to)

flamethrower- poo range and is a danger if you fire it against the direction of the wind so be aware of wind direction when unleashing this beast
rpg- takes some time to arm after firing do note a dirty rpg will fall to the ground and spin about like a dog chasing its tail can be fired at on the ground close to you and it will bounce up
carl g-is always armed when fired so be careful when hitting something close by will also set fire to things behind you to so make sure you stay out of the bushes when you fire this thing but there is one good thing about this the rocket can be guided
mortar-tricky weapon of them all to use basically hold right click and use your mouse to pan the mortar up and down and first you fire out smoke rounds which will tell you where you are going hit and press r to change the ammunition type
main secondary weapons
marakov-kills in 1 hs but takes several to kill without hitting the head also a suppressed version is avalible but must be bought
star .45-stronger then the marakov but similiar
D.Eagle-3 shots to kill without hs and has a loud shot to it so keep volume low when shooting this fine thing =p
mac-10-fast fire rate high accuracy but make sure you aiming at the target or you will be reloading infront of a angry and very alive enemy
uzi-slower then the mac but more powerful and accurate from what i see
IED-like i said before homemade c4 good for ambushing road convoys or taking out objectives
flare pistol-only shot this thing at a car only does damage to make a grey smoke never tried it on an a human before and also the enemy use it to call in friends for back up so if your bored and want so fun get this thing and fire it up high in teh sky can also start fires when the flare blows up

throwables
nade has a effective range of 1 metre radius and can make your enemy take a 20m leap
molotov- not exactly useful when throwing it at a person so use it to set fire to bushes or cars

and there you go may update and add extra info and please DO NOT RIP THIS i spent like ages on this thing

also heres some insight in the difficulty of infamous mode xD
