Plenty of worthwhile mods out there according to PC Gamer Turbo Sliders - Indie racing game for 20+ on one track. Weapons also available. Track Editor available too Freespace 2 - Oldie but goldie, now with fan made updates to make it look cool and allow us to bask in this amazing game once more! Now Freeware! Im sure there are others but who would play them?  | ||

It's a different sort of game....sort of FPS/RPG/Exploration/Sci-Fi/type-of-thing.... It's free software, and the in-game currency has a real value!! (the unit of currency is the PED, 10 PED are equivalent to 1 US Dollar! Approx 50p!) It starts fairly slowly unless you want to "invest" by depositing into the game, but it can be quite absorbing, and has a society system (similar to clans/guilds in other games). It is also expanding, at present there is only one planet and it's asteroid, but apparently soon there will be many more!
