I'm looking for a new mouse as my current one sucks balls, any suggestions of a good and not too expensive gaming mouse? And maybe a decent mousemat if that makes a difference, at the minute i'm using an old letter

I got a Razer Copperhead! Been fine for over a year now with many settings to fancy your needs.
Also not sure what mouse mat you have but I found any cloth material works superb with optical mice. (if you don't want to splash out on a professional sort of one).

Awesome, cheers for the replies. I've got fairly big hands so if the razor is a bit slim i'll give it a miss. Have heard logitec bring dotted around, plus if it doesn't have lights on its good as it'll keep me awake if i leave my computer on!
Don't know if i can justify so much for a mousemat though! My try getting some cloth, would an old shirt cut up and stuck on something work well?

I don't use anything, just the top of my desk works for me, not even sure of the point behind a mousemat tbh, apart from the desktop being slowly eroded

might want to get a SteelSeries QCK cloth mousemat, decent size (the large version's about 45 by 35 cm) and cheaper then an old shirt at 9.50 euros. good quality as well.

Best thing you could do is find a shop where you can test a few mice until you find one that you like then bugger off quick and buy it from somewhere cheaper

i got a deathadder and was lucky enough to visit a local Lan gaming centre in glasgow and they use these on their PC's, nice broad mouse with good weight and comfy.
also have a very large razer mouse mat, nice and thick and had this for about a year and it is in perfect nick, would not go back to anything else. and i cant use the desktop as the desk has a perspex top.

try before you buy if you can, you should be able to get your mitts on a Logitech at PC world etc, the razer stuff you will need to get to a decent gaming type shoppie.

I use this wee bugger:
link

Perfect for me a good size, my last mouse was too small and hurt my hand after a while, 800-3200 on the fly DPI switching and enough buttons to keep Mr Spoon happy!

damn straight craggs.

MX revolution for me.

got it cheap from ebay as there were quite a few being refirbished.

the scroll thing is weird to get used to but when you do its good. (the sensativity is too low for some fancy people (its 800dpi rarther than 1000 that most people have)

the only problem with it is some of the buttons won't map in certain games. (something to do with windows and more than 5 buttons on a mouse.
