Hi guys.

When I install my new CPU i can't see image on monitor.
I can hear my HDD, DVD and all fans spinning but I can't get image on monitor.

I try with different monitor and still the same. PC boots but no image.

I pull the graphic/memory/CPU (few times) and return it and still nothing.

When I get back my old CPU my PC works fine.

New CPU is INTEL CORE QUAD Q9550 (old is core 2 duo E6700)
and my motherboard is ASUS P5B Deluxe.

OS is Windows XP with service pack 2.
All new drivers are installed.

Help pls.

I just had a look as well, edited my above post.

Could be a problem without a floppy, can it be done from a USB mem stick or a bootable CDROM?

simple to fix

Install your old CPU, go to Asus website and download their BIOS update tool (cant recall the name) and download the bios image.
Install the bios tool and run this from windows, this will let you update the bios from the file you downloaded. then reboot.

check that is updated and then install new CPU.

bobs your uncle.

and you can stick you backup to a disk image. It's unlikely to completely refuse to boot.
