Today i got a message linking me to this from a random person on steam, named somethign like . I flagged it on youtube as i saw on the person's profile they didn't have all the games, i guessed it must be a hack/virus. Then i had this conversation with |UKMD| Ju!mp!n Jack

i found this quite suspicious as on his steam profile
and he didn't have all the games either. Unless the steam page only shows games you have played or something this seems pretty suspicious to me and thought it best to tell everybody else before they might get hacked..

Also i don't know if it was really jumping jack talking to me or if it was they hacker.

Also the chat request came via the WC group thing, the group run by atem , that some UKMD are in. Maybe it was just us, in the WC group that was targeted, i don't know...And ,as far as i can see, the first person to send me the link has left the WC Group...but thanks to the magic of the back button i found his steam profile

If it was all a big n00b mistake then sorry but better safe than sorry right?

thats called phishing, happened to me, they hac k one of ur friends' steam and send msg to u and they wont ur steam ID and password so they cant take ur steam profile away from you

me and my mate like a year ago did one of these hacks with his account... i found out it was a scam short after, and i havent got round to telling him yet... i think the phisher got banned or somit.

I've had a couple of these things now, this one and another pointing to a dodgy website.. My question is is there a way of reporting these websites and stuff to steam so they can get them closed down ??

You can report users like that to Steam via Billing and Support, they're generally pretty good at following it up and blacklisting/banning accounts. The beauty is of course that the more people that report a user like this, the quicker he/she gets removed from circulation.
