UK schools spend £3,000 on text-speak posters in schools. Like "f NEfin maks u feel (:+( or uncomfortable on9 tel a responsible XXX str8 awy. Don't B fraid Ull gt N2 strife"

Entitled ‘Top Tips for Pupils: Safe surfing at home and at school’, the posters are on display in corridors and classrooms of more than 2,000 secondary schools in London.

One of the nine tips on the poster, which uses the letters XXX to denote an adult, says: ‘nvr agree 2 mEt an on9 pal IRL w/o chekin W a responsible XXX.’


That means: ‘Never agree to meet an online friend in real life without checking with a responsible adult.’

Another reads: ‘u av d ryt 2 feel safe ll d tym, includN wen UzN ICT or yr mob ph.’


That translates as: ‘You have the right to feel safe all the time, including when using information communications technology or your mobile phone.’

basically even teenagers don't know half of it! probably a 45year old bloke who thought he was "in touch with the younger generation" wrote it up and all his work peers thought he was fantastic. without even checking if younger people actually knew what he was getting at... one of the things that really annoys. people who think they understand but they don't! too much extreme stereotyping going on out there!

I don't have a mobile, never have had one. And I'm 16. If cawa didn't have the translations, that would make no sense to me. How the hell are we meant to know XXX means an adult? If that was in my school I'd think the government were advertising some kind of adult entertainment ffs!

By the way, unless I'm mistaken it says 'if anything makes you feel (:' tell an adult. Is that just a typo or are you actually meant to inform a teacher everytime you smile?

Seriously!
This is getting out of hand.
I'm studying English Literature, and this really makes me feel sad
I've had to write papers on the decline of the English language, and now the government themselves are trying to encourage us to use text speak (which hardly anyone understands anyways!)?
I agree with Doffen!

Imagine This:
Going to a massive game server, where everyone knows everyone else, its all taken in a good manner and there to be enjoyed. The way Gaming should be. Thats what we do every day!

Like None Other
Team MX is like no other 'clan' ever conceived, we are a team, Team MX. We're probably the largest UK clan ever, we have over 170 team members with well over 130 of them actively playing. Team MX is over a year old now, celabrating its first birthday in November last year. Headed up by the worlds biggest n00b, MoggieX and backed up by some outstanding n00blets, known as the core admins.

We don't recruit twats!
Quite frankly we ain't interested in matches, or 'twats' (mainly gobby teanagers, you know the ones), if this is something you're looking for, or are, you're not in the right place at all. However, IF you are a utter n00b (like I am, MoggieX) and enjoy the 'whole' online gaming expereince, where you can make friends from all over the world, then you have found yourself a new home.

A Little More About Team MX
Also quite interestingly, every Team MX member gets a limited amount of admin privilages, its been the norm for people to pay for such rights, here you get them free and you can also feel at ease that there is only small group of admins, the core admins that have the access to any player abuse commands. So you can play in realtive safety, knowing that the server you're on is patrolled by an army of admins. We have members from the ages of 9 to well past retirement, probably with an average age twice that of other clans, a prime example that this is no ordinary clan.

Joining Team MX
We don't let just any old person join, you have to prove yourself over a long period of time. If you're turning up here thinking you're going to join us in a few days, you're sorely mistaken. In most cases it takes over a month to be recruited and thats just the lucky ones! People (not players) rarely leave Team MX, if they do, we never really seem to get rid of them, lol.
