Look guys, i don't have a problem with any of you NOT being Christian (my best friend isn't), but i AM. Please respect that.
I get that most of you aren't religious. I also get that the games i play are "violent". Big deal. I'm big and ugly enough to take care of myself.

I know most of you don't have a problem, and i don't have a problem with you. . . But there are one or two people in this community who seem to think they know what i'm all about.
So i play TF2, and Cs:s, quite reguarly. I also attend church reguarly, and listen to Christian music. You going to tell me i can't do that because i play violent games?
Grow up and respect other people, and maybe you'll get their respect too.

You are absolutely right! It's up to you whether to decide if playing violent games match up with your religion.
I think "we" should respect one another like "we" want to be respected. We musn't enforce (that's not the word I am looking for btw...) our opinions onto each other.
Other people have different opinions. Surely me too can discuss if being Christian can co-exist with playing violent games. I even think that will be an interesting discussion. But this is not the place for that discussion. |UKMD| is open for all people (except twats, biggots etc) of all sorts.
If there's anymore problems, just PM me (or one of the other Core Admins).

Have literally just read this thread, and I'm sort of sad/happy at the same time now. Happy about all the responses, but kind of sad at the fact that I'm not surprised it happened. Everyone on my mother's side of the family is Catholic, but as my dad is atheist I've just grown up thinking anyone can believe what they like, it shouldn't stop them, for example, getting married, let alone shooting each other in the head
I've never encountered any religious prejudice on the servers as I've kept that to myself till this post, but, as I have a microphone it's difficult to hide that I'm American, and I have encountered at least one person who seems to think I'm solely responsible for the Iraq war, George Bush and everything else America has done. Oh, and that I sound weird, obviously. And shouldn't be playing on a UK server (even though I do live in the UK). I suspect they also assumed I'm obese and eat Mcdonalds three times a day. Like Wolf, I don't like it, infact I dislike it so much I've written a really long post... oh wait, I always write really long posts
Rant over. One thought though: Maybe the automatic message on the servers could be updated to mention that any prejudice will be punished At the moment it only warns about racism and swearing.
Or next time someone does this a core admin could slap them senseless, burn them etc

When I worked in Honduras with all the backpackers diving, you had to feel sorry for a lot of the US backpackers coming through. They got so much rubbish talked at them over the Bush situation. A lot of them felt forced to pretend they were Canadian.
yea i found that a fair few of the canadians i met during my gap year were doing the same thing Tito, pretty funny but i spose kinda shameful for the rest of the world too.

Religion on the forums is one of those topics that makes me slightly nervous ! Lots of scope for trouble and so on .......
No, we won't be tolerating any prejudice on the grounds of religion. Equally I'd like to think that we could keep religion out of UKMD - it's a gaming community, and whilst we do take a stance on prejudice, and do have chat forums, and it is a 'free' country, I'm not sure that one's religion/faith or lack of either is a necessary subject to be brought up. [I once had to speedily delete a few items that some n00b thought was funny - the sort of thing that could cause massive offense to others !]
I'm intrigued to know how this thread came into being. If Lonely Wolf thought fit to to bring the subject up in public then there's a certain culpability just there.
As I said, I had kept it to myself, as generally on the internet no one needs to know. But once Wolf said he had been given stick over his religion, not standing up and saying "well actually, if you've got a problem with him you've got a problem with me", is sort of, you know, agaist my religion
im Atheist, but i wont push my beliefs on people if they act the same to me. I think judging people in most aspects is immoral, including religion, race, nationality or ideals.
I think the only think I judge is political stuff like nazism, which isnt just a racist matter. Oh, and if your a super n00b or not

Imagine This: Going to a massive game server, where everyone knows everyone else, its all taken in a good manner and there to be enjoyed. The way Gaming should be. Thats what we do every day!
Like None Other Team MX is like no other 'clan' ever conceived, we are a team, Team MX. We're probably the largest UK clan ever, we have over 170 team members with well over 130 of them actively playing. Team MX is over a year old now, celabrating its first birthday in November last year. Headed up by the worlds biggest n00b, MoggieX and backed up by some outstanding n00blets, known as the core admins.
We don't recruit twats! Quite frankly we ain't interested in matches, or 'twats' (mainly gobby teanagers, you know the ones), if this is something you're looking for, or are, you're not in the right place at all. However, IF you are a utter n00b (like I am, MoggieX) and enjoy the 'whole' online gaming expereince, where you can make friends from all over the world, then you have found yourself a new home.
A Little More About Team MX Also quite interestingly, every Team MX member gets a limited amount of admin privilages, its been the norm for people to pay for such rights, here you get them free and you can also feel at ease that there is only small group of admins, the core admins that have the access to any player abuse commands. So you can play in realtive safety, knowing that the server you're on is patrolled by an army of admins. We have members from the ages of 9 to well past retirement, probably with an average age twice that of other clans, a prime example that this is no ordinary clan.
Joining Team MX We don't let just any old person join, you have to prove yourself over a long period of time. If you're turning up here thinking you're going to join us in a few days, you're sorely mistaken. In most cases it takes over a month to be recruited and thats just the lucky ones! People (not players) rarely leave Team MX, if they do, we never really seem to get rid of them, lol.
