Only recognised two out of all those: Duck Tales and Banana Man. Dangermouse however, I remember very well. All came out before I was born though, I only saw repeats.

Grew up with the Ninja Turtles (you can call them Hero Turtles if you want, but you're wrong ) and Earth Worm Jim myself

Nah. Too young. When string puppets reigned:

It started with a fantasy Western Four Feather Falls. Just watch it until the self-shooting guns do their thing The first sci-fi puppet show was Space Patrol though it's often forgotten. A very futuristic theme tune. Supercar established the genre. Love those eyebrows But it was Fireball XL5 that was the first big success. That was followed by Stingray. And then the greatest of them all - Thunderbirds. Since it's still being repeated on the Sci-Fi Channel today, even you "youngsters" may have stumbled upon it

Some of you may remember "Captain Scarlet" and "Joe 90". These are mere Johnny-Come-Latelys

Finally, as a special treat, these programmes often had a song written especially for them to use as a theme but also hopefully to sell as a single (i.e. 7" vinyl ). Here's the Fireball XL5 Theme Song. Trust me. This was cheesy even in the 1960's

Here endeth the history lesson

OMG Greybeard,

Reading your posts is like listening to my old Maths teacher who was a very erudite gentleman on almost any subject. I do enjoy reading your contributions.

What about Space 1999? An awesome programme where you never actually got to see the aliens.....

Buck Rogers in the 25th Century was also a classic - Wilma Deering had particular appeal in that uniform.

Finally, I used to know a girl that we called Fraggle Rock..........but she did have other attractions!

Did you really mean Space 1999? I seem to remember aliens. Or were you thinking of UFO?

Keeping to the Erin Gray/Wilma Deering "strand", Gabrielle Drake as Lt. Gay Ellis in "UFO" may jog your memory

I don't know if this is absolutely genuine, but legend goes there was an unproduced season finale to the D&D cartoon. The script is available on the Internet if you go looking for it, but someone's done an (admittedly slightly lacking) reading of it which should be on tv-links.cc somewhere.

If it's not still out there, what it boiled down to (as I recall) <Spoilers to follow> was that the kids were sent there for one quest and they were due to go home after that. Venger was actually the Dungeon Master's son, and he gets reborn as... like a paladin or something. Their reuinion is what the kids were summoned to that world for in the first place. The kids finally open the one portal home that they can use without having someone else to save or without Eric getting turned to a frogman or whatever, but the Dungeon Master tells them that while they're free to go, the D&D world still has many troubles that could use their assistance.
They left it open ended. Never showed you what the kids decided to do.
