Im thinking about getting a decent vidoe editing software, because ive allways wanted to do a awesome video of some sorts ^^

since im a n00blet, i dont know what is good, and i was wondering if any UKMDers had experience in this field?

i think sony have some of the best video editing software available:

ofc sony vegas is a bit of a rip off because its aimed at "professional editors" but Movie Studio is pretty much the same software but aimed for home users instead.

or other fruit based computer.

or if you must use windows and are a noob. start with something easy like Pinnacle or even windows movie maker. once you get into it, something like the guys have suggested will rock. just dont dive in with something too complex

I've yet to hear of a decent video editor for Linux...

Tbh, no point in buying a Mac if it's only something you want to try. Download the 30 day trial of Sony Vegas and read some tutorials. There's no point in using Windows Movie Maker or Pinnacle as they won't teach you anything and will lead you nowhere when/if you go to use a more professional package.
