you have too much money for a "poor" student!!

looks good, 4gb ram will be pointless tho on vista home, but it was probably just as cheap for them to put that in than 3.
but plenty of storage for your vid/photoshop work
nice size screen for watching tv/vid
dedicated gfx for some casual gaming
decent cpu for all of the above.

looks like a winner wolfie.

not too sure about the graphics on that thing, hypermemory is horribly overrated, and the card in that lappy performs worse then a 8400 according to these benchmarks: link

even if you're only looking for a lappy for uni work and light gaming, i'd really really recommend getting a decent GPU. for css/tf2/l4d with tasty fps you more or less need at least a 8600M GT (my card, which struggles with RA3 and runs FC2 at med/high).

shameless asus plug, but wth. have a looksie at these laptops, probs can find them a bit cheaper but it's the specs that count. and yes, i know the X-series has about the same gpu, but it's the same price and the 3470 is a fair bit quicker then the 3450

soz for being such a moaning git btw

also hypermemory is useless.

hmm dunno why but my mums got a phobia about buying stuff online (even tho she's got that anti-fraud stuff), only places i can get a laptop from are pcworld, comet, currys and dixons

oh and my max price is £650 and im not gna be playing games with high graphics (bridge commander springs to mind) all my normal gaming ill do on my pc

whats wrong with slate and chalk???
anyway shouldn't you be spending your hard earnt EMA/student handout on cheap booze and pot noodles, oh and shopping for clothes in Age concern, as it's 'oh so retro'...
I bet your favourite movie is some Russian film noir, and you have a doctor who quilt cover and you still cuddle up to your teddy bear called Heskwith, that you've carried with you all the way through boarding school and sits snuggly in your slightly scuffed and battered school satchel.
Your sister has a pony called cassandra, your parents house has more bathrooms than a B+Q store and your Great Aunt Cecelia, has a 'best friend ' called Marjory that she has lived with for the past 40 years, since seperating from your mad uncle Philbert who ran off with a pygmy sherpa from the outer Hebrides whilst on a bear baiting expedition...

actually looks like quite a good buy tbh...

The graphics card is a bit iffy... I'd be trying for something a little better on that end. Have you had a look at the mesh ones, as these can be ordered over the phone...

Dell are competitive with their offers. That's clearly a better PC for what you want.
