Lo all,

Now that I have more time being freed up and I have had a natter with Mat, I can finally have a look at the CSS servers, and there are some changes coming.

Lets start off by saying that DUST will not be dropped, end of, it is the most popular, and no matter what some think, it gets the noobs in.

However a couple of new maps will be put in rotation, and I would like a list of suggestions below.......

Critera:

Maps must be 64 man, and proven 64 man.
They should not be too T or CT biased
You must include Screenshots of the map you are suggesting.
You must include a link to the map for us to download.
Maps must not have any images or reference to other Clans or people in them, we are UKMD.

The maps will then be tested and those that work will be put up to a public vote, much like Mill was, and then you all will be able to decide which we use.

However.......... we gain 2, we loose one, so there will also be a vote when the time comes to drop one of the maps in rotation (excluding dust).

So, ickle noobs, please put your suggestions below, Closing date is 1st January 2010

get rid of them all and turn it into a dust2_unlimited/atrocity dual map 24/7 server.

thats how it was when i first started playing here while sourcemod was introduced over mani.

tbh cawa i think it would be best if you had a new map maybe every 2-3 weeks and there can be more discussion about it when your on because its hard to tell if a map is good with one player on.

As long as we don't lose atrocity from the rotation i don't mind, would also like glass to stay if at all possible. Otherwise i'll happily help with any playtesting when my internet works properly

Bring back the Fawlty Towers map It's a cult classic.

Wey Hey, n1 CAWA, to be honest any new maps would be appreciated, just need some spice in the rotation!

Link here link for the UN-official mapvote thread i put up where apehouse and delta mill were most popular! just had a run around apehouse and its crazy!

Like all of the maps on miesomn's post, cpl_strike and ignorance are good maps too!

There's no care in what im wishing for, and that's out with the mill!!!


Oh, and any chance of a auto assign plugin to stop these ct stackers! Queue to go ct's and rush??

...do they have to be custom maps? Obviously italy is too small =(, but how about a larger standard map - say de_port? Also, why not drop dust2 and just keep dust2_extended? dust2 is tiny with more than 32 people!

...meh forget it, my futile vote goes to CS_ITALY!
... and CS_MILITIA!

which reminds, we really need some more hostage rescue maps. And I second the forced auto assign.

Like Mie's post but also - not a kissmayo fan myself. Strata a good map. Quite like vegas every now and then. Would like to see piranesi go. Hope nightfever stays. Glass for 15 mins is ample (5 mins would be better ) Like tuscan aswell.

Why all the hate for glass its great fun although 15mins is probs a good time-limit!

I wonder if fy_snow can hold 64 as that map is great fun aslong as the "buy" option is turned off for it!

remember when posting a map for consideration that the file size will come into effect, we all want maps with lovely shinny things and great detail but some maps are too big to have ppl waiting to download before joining

glass is good at 15mins

mill doesn't work with the number of ppl that main gets and the ct team stacking (which i now also do just to get a game as ct) is horrendous.

atro, d2/d2unlim, office unlim, nightfever & pasdequartier are all pretty decent too, though not having d2 in the evening rotation (due to size) wouldn't bother me at all.

N1 Cawa and thanks for taking the time to sort out the css servers

Am same as red ! (to be honest any new maps would be appreciated, just need some spice in the rotation)

There seems to be some good maps being mentioned here to

personaly and am not sure if this would be possible ! but i would like to see a custom map (like glass or training yard) every 3 full maps ( so a full map last 20mins so that be 1 an hour or so )

that only lasted maybe 10/15mins for the fun side of things (so we can run around like headless chickens )

also feel that an auto select would be great for the servers too as it would cut out the team staking thats happening alot of late !

Purgatatorory seems very well into becoming a 2nd home for many with the classic maps (i have been told). The n00bs love it.

Aaah, ol' cs_italy_tactik2 would be nice to have back.
And Kismayo was also a grand map to play on, though i certainly wouldn't mind
having a new map to freshen things up. All the candidates mentioned above seems nice (Except de_westwood, 'tis a horrid map!)

And i'm for chopping glass, but thats just my personal opinion (Damn those TK glass shooters! Damn them all i say!)

This is one of the most intricate and largest maps I have ever seen for Counter-Strike Source. The map is set in a down town area of a city. The terrorists are at one end in the county police station (which they quickly break out of) and must cross a few blocks through the roads or alley ways to bomb either an Ammunation or an apartment complex. Even with the size of the map, the bomb sites are relativly closer to each other. The bombsites are both inside the buildings, and have fully modeled interiors. It can be very hard for the Terrorists to breach and secure the buildings, but when they do, it will be even harder for the CTs to retake the buildings. As I said before, this map is huge. The are enough streets, alleyways and buildings to give an infinite variety of ways for the teams to move and attack
one another. Even if this map ever got the maximum of 64 players on it, it would still have room for more.

The way I would describe this map is de_dust on steroids. This map features a similar layout, although barely reconizable. The layout is similar in that the shares a tunnel, underpass and similar locations for bomsites, but thats about it. The map is much more detailed, with new areas added on and more detail in the surroundings. The map has a more modern feeling to it than the original dust maps, which reminded me of an archiological dig more than a established town. This map is much more, with more routes, more detail and more options than the original dust maps. This is by no means a dust redux, or a dust clone. The author has something more in mind, by creating a map similar to real world situations. The author also created many easter eggs, some of which are very interesting. He was also nice enough to put some helpful hints on the walls in the T and CT spawns for those unfamiliar with the map. This map supports up to 64 player slots.

This is one of the most detailed, intricate and enjoyable maps I have ever played on. The premise of the map is that the terrorists are attempting to destroy either A) the river loch system and the area below or the controls to the loch system. The rest is self explanitory. As for the layout of the map, it is spectacular. There is so many hallways, rooms, vents and access tunnels that the variety to attack or defend is endless. The map is multi level and has many different settings. From a cafateria, to an office, to an information center to a loch to a pump system to a control center, there are so many different areas that its hard to remember them all. The map is well made, I especially liked the outdoor area around the lochs and ship. Interiors use a variety of wall textures from unfinished drywall to wood paneling. This is a great map, but in my search I could not find a server playing it, which is too bad since it is so well made and has huge potential. Note: This is version 2.

Use to be on the server years ago, was a great map, but problems with people camping the roofs on t-side.

Should be fixable with entviewer and putting barrels on the spots to climb up there.

On this map, the terrorists plot to bomb a courthouse where one of their men is being tried. The Terrorists can either assault the courthouse and plant the bomb, or rush through a motel and into an alleyway to blow of the attached prison complex. Counter-Terrorists start off in the courthouse, and must defend the area from the terrorists at the key bottlenecks. In the courthouse, there is a break room and lobby where the CTs can hold off their attackers, while a vent system can give the Terrorists a chance to flank around, it is easily defendible by one or two CTs. The other path is just as much as a bottleneck for the Ts, who must jump out of one or two windows on the second story motel. From here they can go through a sewer system, or try to attack the bomb site through a blind corner in an alleyway. Both bomb sites are quite hard to attack, and it takes team coordination and skill on both sides to win. This map is tricky, but I consider this good, because I don't like over-simplified maps one or two obvious routes. This map can support up to 64 people for the ultimate experience in mayhem.

his maps starts out with the Counter-Terrorists in a walled training facility. The Terrorists start on the outskirts of the compound. There are bunkers for the Terrorists to snipe out of but the training facility but the facilities walls provide a certain amount of cover. The two bomb sites are very different and present unique challenges. The training area is exposed and outdoors while the conference area in indoors and very dark, with no area for a wide angle assault. Visually speaking, the map is very nice. The areas are detailed and the color combination of the green tin roofs and grey concrete work well. One thing about this map is that it feels empty unless you can get atleast 24 people on it. The size is overwhelming otherwise.

his map takes place in a Russian naval submarine station in some god forsaken place. The Terrorists begin just inside the compound and must make their way through the frozen barracks and storage areas to reach their targests. Both targets are Submarines. One is in a drydock while the other is in a pen in the water. The bombsites are parallel to each other and relatively close. Even with their close proximity, reaching either of the bomb sites can be a chore if the Counter-Terrorists create a proper defense. Barrels, crates and ammunition lockers give excellent cover to the defenders. The bomb sites are in open areas, so long range weapons will be important for anyone attacking/defending them. The quality of the map is great, the effects that give the heat generators their blurring effect hint to the player that is it very cold at the base, even though that is one of senses that is absent in the video game experience. The interiors give the impression that the facility is a barren outpost. Lots of contrete, tile, fogged glass and dim lighting set the stage for this map, which by the way, can hold up to 64 players. For a map this size, the battles could be insane with that many players.
