Just wondering given the amount of peeps in UKMD that we could possibly create our own mod?

Or does no one have any experience in -
Modelling
Texturing
Coding
Map Making
Sound Effects
Concept Art
etc..etc..

Just a thought

Would be a very fun fun fun idea, but quite hard work!
I can do some map making I'd be happy to do that if we do it

Yay! a response after like 50 viewings. Well I have thought about making a mod for some time. The only problem is we really needed a coder for making the required changes.

I have had a story and background done for one mod for a long time. While I know its hard work and requires a lot of time. The amount of UKMD peeps could be of benefit if people were up for it and had something to add to it. If enough peeps are wanting to help and we had cover for most of the areas needed then im more than willing to set up a part for us to put ideas together and chat about possible project

this would require alot of effort and work, you talking bout a simple css mod or something totally different based around css? either way i wish you luck as i cannot do any of the above stuff except acting like a titty at the best of times

good luck!

Well given the amount of games these days that provide the SDK (UT3, Crysis, Source and so on) the mod could be made on any platform given we have the right knowledge. And it would be a different mod to css. My initial designs were for a single player/co-op game. But of course we would need someone to work on AI. So a multiplayer mod may be the way to go if we cant get suitable "staff"

Thought about it, even started it but realised u really need a dedicated team. I even hav half done maps for it. Not something to be taken lightly thats for sure.
Also depend what kind of mod. A simple Single player based on hl2 basically just needs maps. A multiplayer needs a bit more and a complete overhaul needs everything redoing which takes a team of people working very hard...

My brother is a qualified sound engineer with tons of equipment, i.e he can do professional recordings, so if this ever took off we could maybe do sounds.

I'm a computer programming graduate, if that's any good. Not a great one, but I've managed to write something that's at least compiled in maybe 12 or 14 languages. I'd certainly be willing to have a look.

AI's a tricky beast. Did a module on it, there's a lot of palaver with nodes and searching algorithms. Gus has a point, a team'd be a good idea. People to bounce ideas off of, chuck in contributions and whatnot.

Well that certainly helps guys. Its looking more promising by the post.

So at the mo we got people who can
- Code
- Map
- Possibly do sound/music

So what about
- Concept art
- Texture
- Modelling

If we get at least these points covered. I will put up a section for us to discuss further
